A few years ago, while drawing in his mother’s backyard, he noticed an oak tree growing spontaneously in the pot of another plant. No one had noticed it before and it was thanks to his drawing that they did. Many times we are looking but we simply let our gaze wander. With drawing, that gaze becomes attentive, but it needs to be trained.
The aim of this workshop is to make us aware of how we can see and observe attentively but, at the same time, we can add and show what interests us in order to tell our own stories.
Urban Sketching is not only about drawing but also storytelling, narrating and making our voice heard. It is about doing things for ourselves again, documenting, reflecting and thinking.
